Some readers are asking if the ‘late 2012’ Mac mini with a Quad-Core i7 processor can match the power of a Quad-Core Mac Professional. Many Mac Professional owners have a keyboard, mouse, and display they like. Shouldn’t they save a pile of money and substitute their old Mac Voor with a fresh Mac mini? Maxon’s Cinebench 11 cross-platform benchmark uses code from Cinema 4D to display how prompt multi-core CPUs can render a 3D proefje. Rather than time ter seconds, it gives a speed rating. ( HIGHER number rating is Swifter)

Unigine Heaven Three is a cross-platform benchmark that uses 26 flyby/walkthrough scenes to measure DirectX or OpenGL spectacle. ( HIGHER number te Frames vanaf 2nd is Swifter)

LuxRender’s LuxMark Two.0 benchmarks OpenCL render speed. The test monster used is Sala with 488,000 triangles. The results are measured ter Thousands of Samples vanaf 2nd. ( HIGHER number means Quicker.)

The 2012 Quad-Core i7 Mac mini is a real contender when it comes to CPU power compared to our examples of a Quad-Core Mac Voor and Quad-Core iMac. Wij project to add some other examples of Quad-Core desktop Macs (including a swifter Mac mini) to thesis graphs te the days ahead but the point is made.

However, the GPU te the 2012 Quad-Core i7 Mac mini is powerless te comparison to the Mac Professional (and iMac) spil you can see from the ",Heaven", graph.
